Clyde News can exclusively reveal the cost of crews going out to deliberate fires in Glasgow alone cost more than £5.8 million last year.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service is giving us these figures which also show teams attended 2726 blazes across the city in 2013.
A spokesperson said: "the average cost of a ‘secondary fire’ (refuse, rubbish, fly-tipped material, grass or heathland, derelict buildings) is £2,000. These incident types would cover the majority of deliberate fires. A car or vehicle fire averages £5,000 though."
The figures do show there has been a 12% drop in deliberate fires since 2009.
