MEN BRANDISHED HAMMERS AND A KNIFE IN JEWELLERY ROBBERY
Police Scotland is appealing for witnesses after a jeweller's in Newton Mearns was held up by men brandishing hammers and a knife.
At around 1400 yesterday, five members of staff were working inside Eric N Smith Jewellers, Ayr Road when three men entered the shop.
Two of them were carrying hammers, and the other man a large knife. He threatened staff while the other two robbers smashed several displays of high value Rolex Watches with hammers.
The men then fled the scene with the designer goods worth an estimated £200,000.
The men are believed to have made their getaway in a blue Peugeot, and were last seen turning right onto Eaglesham Road, and then into Maple Avenue.
Man 1 is described as wearing a waist length jacket with a hood. He was also wearing a grey hooded top underneath with the hood up, a black skip hat, red gloves and white trainers.
Man 2 is desccribed as wearing a grey hooded jogging style top with the hood up, a black scarf covering the lower half of his face, black jogging bottoms, black shoes and gloves.
Man 3 is described as wearing a grey waist length hooded "blouson" style jacket wtih zips to the front and back, a black hooded top with the hood up, black shoes with a white sole and black gloves.
Police say they have made contact with several witnesses and are checking CCTV.
